DUAL APPLICATION PROCESS

The School of Social Work's Ph.D. Program in Social Welfare is an interdisciplinary program that is also governed by regulations of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Graduate School. Admission to the doctoral program requires admittance to both the School of Social Work and the Graduate School.

Students seeking admission to the doctoral program will need to:

  • Meet the admission requirements of the Graduate School and those of the School of Social Work,

  • Complete all application materials for both.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

The Ph.D. Program considers students for Fall Admission only.

FALL 2008 APPLICATION DEADLINE:   December 1

Applications and all supporting materials must be received by December 1. See below for Checklist of Application Materials.

GRE scores can take up to 90 days to be received by the Graduate School, so plan accordingly.

Incomplete applications will be withdrawn from consideration.

About late applications: The Ph.D. Program will continue to accept and review late applications until January 15. If your application or application materials are late, however, your application will be reviewed after completed applications received by the December 1 deadline.
